Notice is hereby given that Wexford County Council intends to close the following roads to public traffic on Friday 11 September, Saturday 12 September and Sunday 13 September 2026 to facilitate the holding of the Wexford Volkswagen Stages Motor Car Rally.
Friday 11 September 2026
Ceremonial start to Wexford Volkswagen Stages Motor Car Rally at North Main Street and Monck Street, Wexford town.
Road Closures: North Main Street (L3500-2&3) from its junction at the Bullring to its junction with Georges Street Lower, Monck Street (L7506-1), and Charlotte Street (L7507-1).
Times: 18.30 to 21.30
Alternative Routes: The Bullring to Cornmarket to Abbey Street to Temperance Road to Westgate to Redmond Square to North Main Street via the L7531, L7525, L7526 and the R730.
Route: Monroe (ed Edermine) to Garrynisk to Oilgate to Ballyboggan Lower via the L6048, N11, L3005 and the L3003.
Alternative routes will be signposted.
Please note that it may be possible by prior arrangement with the Wexford Motor Club to facilitate some local access at certain times.
Any person wishing to object to the closing of these roads should lodge the objection in writing via the online portal https://consult.wexfordcoco.ie/ or in hard copy before 12:00 noon on 7 July 2026 to the County Secretary, Wexford County Council, County Hall, Wexford.
