Update: 10th December 2020

The public consultation period on the Draft County Development Plan 2021 – 2027 finished on Wednesday, 9th December 2020. The Planning Authority is currently processing the submissions and observations received. These submissions and observations will be published on this portal within 10 working days of their receipt.

Wexford County Council has prepared the Draft Wexford County Development Plan 2021-2027. The Draft Plan contains the following:

  • Volume 1 Written Statement
  • Volume 2 Development Management Manual
  • Volume 3 Settlement Plans (Bunclody Town, Rosslare Harbour and Kilrane, Castlebridge and Rosslare Strand)
  • Volume 4 Section 28 Statement of Compliance
  • Volume 5 Record of Protected Structures
  • Volume 6 Architectural Conservation Areas
  • Volume 7 Landscape Character Assessment
  • Volume 8 Retail Strategy
  • Volume 9 Housing Strategy
  • Volume 10 Energy Strategy
  • Volume 11 Strategic Flood Risk Assessment
  • Volume 12 SEA Environmental Report prepared in accordance with the Planning and Development (Strategic Environmental Assessment) Regulations 2004 (as amended)
  • Volume 13 Natura Impact Report pursuant to Part XAB of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) and in accordance with Article 6 of the Habitats Directive was also prepared. 
     

Public Display of the Draft Plan

The Draft Plan is on public display from Monday, 28th September 2020 to Wednesday, 9th December 2020.

Wexford County Council invites written submissions and observations on the Draft Plan and associated Environmental Report and Natura Impact Report.

Written submissions and observations in relation to the Draft Plan received by the Planning Authority during the period of Monday, 28th September 2020 to 4pm on Wednesday, 9th December 2020 will be taken into consideration before the making of the Plan.

Written submissions and observations can be made either:

Written submissions and observations should be marked ‘Draft Wexford County Development Plan 2021-2027’ and addressed to ‘Forward Planning, Planning Department, Block B, Wexford County Council, County Hall, Carricklawn, Wexford, Y35 WY93.

 

Please note the following:

  • E-mailed submissions and observations will not be accepted.
  • Please make your written submission or observation in one medium only, that is, either online or in hard copy.   
  • Written submissions and observations received after 4pm on Wednesday, 9th December 2020 will not be taken into consideration.
     

Requirement for names and addresses


When making a written submission or observation either online or by hard copy, please provide your name, address and contact details.  If you are making a written submission/observation on behalf of an organisation/body, please provide the name, address and contact details of that organisation/body.

The Planning and Development Act, 2000 (as amended) requires a planning authority to invite written submissions and observations during the preparation of statutory development plans. It further requires the Planning Authority to publish these submissions and observations on its website. This will include the name of the person/body who made the submission or observation.

The Planning Authority is required to send certain written submissions and observations to the Minister. Your written submission/observation, together with your name and address, may therefore be sent to the Minister where required.

The Planning Act also requires the Planning Authority to list these names in the Chief Executive’s Report to the Members of Wexford County Council and to publish the report on its website. Your name will therefore also be published in that report in the hard copy and online.  

Aside from this, the personal information (data) collected during the consultation process (which may include the collection of sensitive personal data) is collected for the purpose of receiving and dealing with submissions and observations and any data collected is subject to Wexford County Council’s privacy statements. 

Locations for display of the Draft Plan

The Draft Plan is available to view in hard copy during normal opening hours at the Planning Department, Wexford County Council, County Hall, Carrick Lawn, Wexford Town, Y35 WY93. Please note that due to Covid-19 protocols, attendance at the Planning Department is by appointment only.

The Draft Plan is also available to borrow from Wexford County Council public libraries. You can arrange to borrow a copy of the Draft Plan by contacting your local library.

Please note public display arrangements and opening times will be kept under review in light of emerging Government guidance relating to the management of Covid 19 and may be subject to change if necessitated by circumstances relating to Covid-19.

  • Bundle A          Volumes 1, 2 and 3     €100
  • Bundle B          Volumes 4 – 13            €100
