Deeps Bridge Remediation- Application to An Bord Pleanála Application under Section 177AE of the Planning and Development Act 2000

APPLICATION TO AN BORD PLEANÁLA

Wexford County Council

Wexford County Council intends to make an application for approval to An Bord Pleanála under section 177AE of the Planning and Development Act 2000 as amended development comprising remediation works to Deeps Bridge and all associated ancillary works at the Deeps and Killurin in Co. Wexford .

The proposed development consists of localised repairs to the bridge deck, deck beams, parapets and piers (above the waterline); grit blasting and repainting of central steel span; installation of bridge deck waterproofing system; renewal of expansion joints and deck drainage; resurfacing of road on and approaching bridge; provision of new kerbing on and approaching bridge deck; and all ancillary site development works. 

A Natura Impact Statement has been prepared in respect of the proposed development. 

An Bord Pleanála may give approval to the application for development with or without conditions or may refuse the application for development.

The planning documentation and a copy of the Natura Impact Statement may be inspected free of charge or purchased at the following location at the specified times.

  • Wexford County Council, County Hall, Carricklawn, Wexford, Y35 WY93

Between the hours of 9.00am to 1.00pm and 2.00pm to 5.00pm on Mondays to Fridays (public holidays excluded) from 15th November 2021 to 5th January 2022 inclusive of both dates.

 

Submissions or observations may be made in writing to the Board at its offices at 64 Marlborough Street, Dublin 1, during the period of 15th November 2021 to 5th January 2022 in relation to –

  1. the implications of the proposed development for proper planning and sustainable development in the area concerned,
  2. the likely effects on the environment of the proposed development, and
  3. the likely significant effects of the proposed development on a European site.

Submissions or observations should reach An Bord Pleanála by 17.30 on the 5th January 2022.

Any person may, within 4 weeks from the date of this notice, apply to An Bord Pleanála for a screening determination as to whether the development would have significant effects on the environment.
